Good Vibrations Sports Bar & Grill
World Cup Poster Ad

This is an 8.5″x22″one-color poster I designed for Good Vibrations Sports Bar & Grill in Playa Carmen, Costa Rica.

They were playing all of the World Cup games, no matter what the hour, so they offered a breakfast special for $6 (including drink!)

I designed a vertical format that was cost-effective (1 color) but would also be eye-catching, even from a distance, considering that much of the local advertising media buy was essentially posting ads on telephone poles and the occasional palm tree.

Though Costa Rica was not competing, I wanted to throw in a shout-out to my tico friends by embedding Costa Rican soccer star Bryan Ruiz in the half-tone, recognizable only by Costa Rican soccer enthusiasts who were also standing far away.
